Pictures have emerged showing the man wanted in connection with the killing of ex-EastEnders actress Sian Blake and her two sons being arrested in Ghana.
Mr Simpson-Kent the children’s father, arrived on 19 December, using the police force becoming active in the search for him in the country’s.
This was after a joint Ghana, Interpol and British Police team laid ambush in the Western Region on Saturday.
The bodies of Ms Blake and her two children Zachary, eight, and Amon, four, were found in shallow graves at the family home in Kent earlier this week.
The family had been reported missing in mid-December.
‘We are now working alongside the Ghanaian authorities but are not in a position to discuss further at this time’.
Confirming that an investigation is under way, th e IPCC said police began their enquiries following a “report of concern” by visiting the home where officers spoke to Simpson-Kent.
An Interpol spokesman in Ghana said Simpson-Kent was being driven to the capital Accra from the port city of Takoradi, ITV reported.
The police watchdog, the Independent Police Complaints Commission, has launched an inquiry into the original handling of the case and why it took three weeks before the bodies were found.
Ms Blake’s sister Ava said Simpson-Kent will have to “answer to God” if he was responsible for their deaths.
Police say Blake and her two sons died from injuries to the neck and head.
Blake, 43, appeared in the long-running soap opera in 1996-1997. His extended family is said to be in Cape Coast.
